Peer Academic Coaching Program

The Peer Academic Coaching Program is a retention and success tool. This coaching program is part of the Academic Recovery Program at °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï. In the College’s mission statement, we say that we know our students by name, meaning we walk alongside students and personally tailor and support student development. We do not leave students alone or lost in the Forest. Foresters support other Foresters on their way to becoming Foresters Forever.

Our mission is to provide individualized support and tailor our approach to each students' unique academic needs. Peer Coaches are trained to assist students at their point of need, helping them achieve their personal academic goals.

What is Peer Academic Coaching?

Peer Academic Coaches (PAC) are students who possess a comprehensive understanding of the elements of academic success. They help peers identify barriers to academic achievement and develop strategies to overcome these challenges. Coaches recognize that academic success is a process requiring time, effort, and dedication to new, productive habits.

Coaches are trained to talk with their clients about emotions and habits attached tos their academic obstacles. They work through these obstacles with their clients, accessing other college resources when needed. They facilitate change without making the client feel badly about choices they have made. Coaches understand that becoming a successful Forester is a process that can take time.
